The ‘A-Team’ is the ‘A-Team’ because of the value they bring to their ‘day jobs.’  An often-overlooked cost of an ERP implementation is the cost of backfilling these day jobs to create focus time.  Failing to backfill these roles will create a conflict between their ‘urgent and important’ day jobs and their ‘important’ roles on the implementation team. A portion of the project budget should cover the cost of backfilling key resources.
